A few weeks ago I was writing two articles about the Polish Urban art scene and by chance i discover an amazing artwork by a young Polish artist called NeSpoon. I immediately wanted to know more about her and her art. Very few artists stop you in your tracks when you discover their work. Her art is somewhere between urban art, poetry, architecture and painting. Her work exudes a subtle oriental perfume. I contacted her and she kindly agreed to answer my questions. Here’s her interview.
Hi NeSpoon, great to meet you. Where are you originally from?
I am from Warsaw, Poland.
When/Why did you start putting your art onto walls?
It was exactly 10 years ago.
Where do you get your inspiration?
My art is inspired by the lace patterns themselves. Wherever I work, I always try to find local lace makers and local patterns. The colors of the works refer usually to the colors of the surroundings. My last mural in India was inspired by the colors of traditional Hindu women’s costumes.

Which of your artworks are you most proud of (And where can we find them)?
I feel a strong bond with all my works, I like all of them. When I work, I always do the best I can, no matter if it is large-scale mural, installation, street ceramics or illegal stencil graffiti.
Have you collaborated with other artists?
I prefer to work alone. I did a few collab works with close friends, with whom I share the studio in Warsaw – Maniac and Szyman. The only spontaneous collaboration with someone I’ve just met are the works made with a Colombian artist Stinkfish during Djerbahood festival in Tunisia and with Italian artist Alice Pasquini in Civitacampomarano.
Do you have any artists you would like to collaborate with?
No, but I really like the atmosphere of festivals when I meet artists from many countries in person.
These personal relationships and friendships are very important to me.

Is there a dream place worldwide where you would like to create an artwork?
I have long planned to make a large interactive installation at the front of the Reichstag in Berlin. I would like to do something in Louvre Abu Dhabi, because this building is wonderful.
Do you have any exhibitions or upcoming art festivals?
My destinations for next two months are Vladivostok in Russia, Yerevan in Armenia, Madrid in Spain and Le Locle in Switzerland.
Thanks a lot. Would you like to add anything else for Streetart360 readers?
