During my trip to Flanders, dedicated to Street Art and Graffiti , I met Klaas Van Der Linden in Ghent.
It was a great pleasure to meet this talented artist, and i’m pleased to present you his artworks and also let you know more about this artist and his upcoming projects …
Klaas Van der Linden is a 31 years old Belgium Street Artist and Graffiti artist who lives and works in Belgium.
Klaas seeks in his art the spirit of the night both literally and figuratively. Nighttime for Klaas is an adventure, where he encounters less common scenes of himself and of others. He shows his love of portraying people and objects/subjects from his own everyday and personal living environment, through a crossover between painting and aerosol on canvas.
His canvas paintings are normally the designs for his huge full color wall paintings followed by a small version of the wall paintings he creates on canvas. Inspired by his large collection of human skulls and skeletons Klaas has also made a great body of work on canvas and walls that portray these skulls and skeletons. In his last series of artworks, he creates on the streets using only black spraypaint to create symbolic scenes with skeletons that reflect the essence of life. He has exhibited his work already several times in foreign countries including solo exhibitions in Germany and Copenhagen. He has created on this and other trips at home and abroad murals in public spaces such as on the island of Tenerife and one of the most largest wall paintings at the Baudelopark in Ghent (Belgium). His next exhibition will be inspired by wood, forest, nature and animals. We wait in anticipation for Klaas’s next exhibition in the next few months in Ghent (Belgium).
