BAaD street art event took place in Glasgow this weekend. I’ve been invited by my friends Ejek and RogueOne to discover this new venue for urban art in Barras.
Norrie Innes, the owner at BAaD Backyard says about this new place in Glasgow: “Creative people, just by their very description…’are ‘ creative in their thinking and creative in their function… They can acclimatise to an environment in a way that other people might struggle. So the creative industry is something that has to be nourished here. ”
“The Backyard” is a new urban space in the heart of Glasgow’s iconic Barras Market. The Backyard at BAaD “Barras Art and Design” is constructed entirely from shipping containers and is part of an ongoing collaborative project by ROCK DCM to help regenerate the east end art quarter.
The famous Street art Gallery based in Glasgow, Art Pistol introduced for this artistic event an eclectic group of artists, from the biggest and best names in Scottish street art and graffiti, to some of the rising stars in the gallery world painting their first works in the streets.
The Line Up:
Rogue-one, Coll Hamilton, EJEK, Conzo Throb, Ciaran Glöbel, Little Book Transfers, James Frew, Mark Worst, Paul McDonald, Gavin Donaldson, Chelsea Frew, As One & Miss MV.
